Hospitality Management Career Fair

The Hospitality Management Career Fair was held March 5 at the Reynolds Alumni Center. CAFNR's Hospitality Management program hosted 35 employers at the fair for MU students. See complete event details online. Industry panels in each of the emphasis areas were also held at the beginning of the fair.

Sports Venue Management

Panelists include: Derek Doolittle, Director of Event Management, Mizzou Athletic Department; Jim Wynkoop, Chaifetz Arena, Comcast Spectacor & Global Spectrum; Jim Knoesel, Golf Pro, A.L. Gustin Golf Course; and Mark Winter, Freelance Television Producer. Student moderators were: Lauren Reagan and Audrey Schutte.

Conference and Events

Panelists include: Patricia Sachtleben, Event Liaison, Cosmopolitan Events, St. Louis; Beth Mead, Tourism Marketing & Sales Manager, Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau; DeAnne McKinney, Research Manager, Missouri Department of Tourism; Laura Sconyers, MU student and incoming President of Mizzou Special Events Society; Cynthia Yang, formerly of Red Frog Events. Student moderators were: Annie Storey, Dana Becker and Laurie Williams.

Food & Beverage Management

Panelists include: Laura Bailey, Chief Resources Officer, Butler's Pantry, St. Louis; Ken Lynch, Vice President of Human Resources, Performance Food Service Middendorf; Jeff Lister, Account Executive, Sysco Foods, Kansas City; David Stancliffe, Area Manager, Hormel Foods. Student moderators were Hanna Winslow, Leah Stotts and Michelle Kramer.

Lodging Management

Panelists include: Bob McDonald, General Manager-The Broadway, VP Food and Beverage Hospitality-Chesterfield Hotels; Valerie Minner, Director of Rooms Operations, Kansas City Marriott Downtown; Abbey Mattson, Director of Human Resources, Crown Plaza Hotels and Resorts; Tim Combs, Director of Human Resources, Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch; and Alma Avdic-Bijedic, Director of Human Resources at Hilton at the Ballpark, Lodging Hospitality Management. Student moderators were Mary Harding and Lindsey Woody.
